Hill City Church

H Design Group LLC is the project architect for Hill City Church’s new home situated on the old Bolivar Insulation 7-acre site at East Trafficway Street and Chestnut Expressway. The congregation currently meets at Gillioz. Officials say the design incorporates a modern-industrial aesthetic, featuring steel, wood and concrete. The 30,000-square-foot building will seat up to 900 and features an oversized atrium, classrooms and flexible meeting spaces, and a 5,500-square-foot covered pavilion. Church leaders intend for the community to use the space as an event venue throughout the week. Plans call for the existing water tower on site to be refurbished to display the unofficial blue and white city flag. Snyder Construction Group LLC is the general contractor, and engineering work is by Olsson Inc., civil and landscape; J&M Engineering LLC, structural; and True Engineering Group LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project is expected to wrap in June 2022.
The Courageous Church is growing its footprint with the addition of a new East Campus, made possible through a merger with the former Eastern Gate Free Will Baptist Church.
