Project description: On the campus of Mercy Hospital Springfield, the Mercy Heart Hospital will feature three operating rooms, eight catheterization labs and a dedicated, separate entrance. The new facility will handle invasive procedures on the first floor and cardiovascular clinics on the second floor. The bulk of the project is a renovation, but it also includes a 14,000-square-foot addition. Work on the project began in 2016. The Lamar Johnson Collaborative LLC is the project architect, and IMEG Corp. is the structural and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer.
Under construction beside the existing Republic branch of the Springfield-Greene County Library District – which remains in operation throughout the project – is a new building that will double the size of the original, according to library officials.
