The city of Branson's fiscal year begins Oct. 1 with a new budget of just over $36 million, up 1 percent from the 1998 budget.
New capital improvements planned for next year include increasing the number of parks, new restroom and shower facilities at the city campground, additional public parking around city hall and more residential sewer connections.
Meanwhile, new construction inside the city limits of Branson continues to outpace last year, according to Branson city officials.
For the months of January through August, construction values have totaled $24.6 million compared to $22.8 million for all of 1997. Condominiums continue to make up most of the new construction values.
