The Greene County Commission yesterday approved its latest round of Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act grants.

With the $380,000 awarded to 43 applicants, the commission has approved $25.5 million of the $34.4 million in federal stimulus funds it must allocate by year's end, according to a news release.

Telecommunications service provider Protel Systems & Supplies Inc. was the top recipient, at $35,000, in the latest grant round.

In the next-highest funding amount, $15,000 apiece went to CT LLC, Home Instead Senior Care, Leong's Asian Diner LLC, Studio 417 Inc., Sunbelt Environmental Services Inc. and Two Men and a Truck, according to the release.

All of the funding is earmarked for "business interruption," according to county officials.

The full list of applicants chosen to receive grants is available at Greene County's website.

In addition to small businesses, funding has been approved by the commission in the categories of education, health care, nonprofits and community organizations, and taxpayer-supported entities.

Among the largest grants awarded was $4 million for the Springfield-Greene County Health Department, according to past reporting.
