Springfield-based restaurant chain Big Whiskey’s second franchise store is scheduled to open next week.
Franchisee H2B Restaurants LLC, owned by local businessmen Ed House and Ryan Bohl of Bohl, House, & Samek CPAs, as well as J.D. House, a consultant for Mosaic Life Care in Kansas City, is behind the restaurant launching in Lee’s Summit.
The Big Whiskey’s restaurant within the 500,000-square-foot Summit Fair shopping center is opening May 19, according to a news release.
“We felt confident that Kansas City is a perfect market for this concept,” Ed House said in the release, noting the franchise group is searching for a second location.
The Kansas City-area Big Whiskey’s comes about a month after the first franchise restaurant opened March 10 in Bentonville, Arkansas. The northwest Arkansas franchise rights are held by real estate broker Shane Miller.
The projected initial investment range for a single startup restaurant is between $636,500 and $998,000, including a franchise fee of $50,000, according to
BigWhiskeysFranchise.com. Franchisees agree to pay annual royalties of 5 percent of gross revenue, spend at least 2 percent of gross revenue on local marketing and contribute up to 1 percent of gross revenue into a marketing fund, which serves all locations, according to the franchising website.
Big Whiskey’s currently operates three corporate-owned stores in Springfield and one each in Ozark and Branson. The company is scheduled to open a
Republic restaurant at a former Ruby Tuesday this summer.
