Project description: A drive-thru canopy is being converted into finished interior space for an expansion of Second Baptist Church. The renovation project will create a new children’s education area and remodel the nursery and preschool area, according to officials on the project, as well as new adult classroom spaces. Buxton Kubik Dodd Design Collective is project architect and also serving as mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. The structural engineer is RTM Engineering Consultants LLC, and the civil engineer is Own Inc. The renovation is being completed as the first phase of the church’s $20 million Sow Strong master plan, according to its website.
