SBJ unveils 13th class of Health Care Champions

Springfield Business Journal continues its tradition of honoring health care professionals in the area during November’s Health Care Champions awards event.

An independent panel of judges selected the recipients for the honor of Top Doctor and chose additional professionals in four other fields: administrator, nurse, technician and therapist. The company awards are for Corporate Wellness Program of the Year and Provider of the Year.

This year’s Top Doctor honors go to Dr. Curtis P. Schreiber, medical director at the Missouri Memory Center at Citizens Memorial Hospital, and Dr. Mark J. Van Ess, physician at Mercy Clinic Ear, Nose & Throat.

The Provider of the Year award goes to Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, and Citizens Memorial Hospital was selected for the Corporate Wellness Program of the Year.

The additional individual Health Care Champions, in alphabetical order, are:

Administrator: Ellen Hammock, vice president of provider services at CoxHealth; A. Breanna Jain, CEO of Eustasis Psychiatric & Addiction Health; and Kim Tilley, vice president of operations at Mercy Hospital Springfield.
Nurse: Olga Eldrige, director of nursing for Eustasis Psychiatric & Addiction Health; Susan Hansen, administrative director of the Hammons Heart Institute at Mercy Hospital Springfield; and Elyse Nimmo, fellowship specialist at Mercy Hospital Springfield.
Technician: Matt Havens, primary care physician assistant at Citizens Memorial Hospital; Paulette Ivey, lab assistant coordinator at Citizens Memorial Hospital; and LeeAnne Wallace, lead radiologic technologist at Select Specialty Hospital.
Therapist: Jeffrey Alderman, counselor at Eustasis Psychiatric & Addiction Health; Dawnielle Robinson, mental health therapist at Citizens Memorial Hospital; and Rachael Swopes, psychologist at Citizens Memorial Hospital Pediatric Clinic.
