A Battlefield Mall space that once housed Charlotte Russe is being taken over this spring by another women's clothing retailer.
The mall announced yesterday it signed Dry Goods, a fashion boutique, to occupy the 4,000-square-foot space in the spring, according to a news release.
“We’re thrilled to add this new retailer Dry Goods to our growing roster of 150 specialty stores at Battlefield Mall,” said Michael Martin, general manager at Battlefield Mall, in the release. “The unique ... brand has developed a strong following."
Infill work is scheduled to start in the coming weeks on the space between Justice and Build-A-Bear in the mall's main corridor. A city building permit from December points to a $1 million declared valuation for the Dry Goods infill renovation.
The announcement of Dry Goods, which sells women's apparel, accessories and gifts, follows the mall signing international retailer H&M to occupy 20,000 square feet across from Old Navy. Infill work is underway for H&M, which is slated to open this fall, Springfield Business Journal previously reported.
The mall also is losing a major tenant in the form of Sears, which has anchored the retail development for nearly four decades. Sears is holding a liquidation sale with a planned mid-April closure date.
Charlotte Russe shuttered its store last year amid bankruptcy proceedings and nationwide closures.
Dry Goods will be the fourth Missouri store for the retail chain with one store in Columbia and two in the St. Louis area.
