Greene County's wages were topped by the state average in 2021, according to recently released data from the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center.
The data, released Friday, show average annual wages for all industries, public and private, for Greene County came to $50,704 last year. The local county's average hourly wage in 2021 was $24.38.
Statewide, average annual wages came to $56,447. The average hourly wage across Missouri last year was $27.14.
The city of St. Louis, which also is a county, was No. 1 last year with average annual wages of $69,631, according to the MERIC report. The county's average hourly wage was $33.48.
A request for 2020 data was unsuccessful by deadline.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
