Springfield Business Journal's annual 40 Under 40 event drew nearly 500 attendees to White River Conference Center on Tuesday night.

The event celebrated the 40 honorees' personal accomplishments in the civic and professional arenas. Their profiles are available here.

Mark Harrington, president and CEO of OMB Bank, the event's presenting sponsor, said the bank wanted to be involved, in part, because of the success the company has had with the intentional hiring of young professionals.

"It changed the entire trajectory of the business," he told attendees. "You're here for a reason, and you're not here by accident. Someone noticed what you're doing. You're doing the right thing and the next right thing. Be proud of that."

The event, emceed by Sarah Jenkins and Nate Black of The Mystery Hour, additionally served as a fundraiser for Barnabas Foundation Inc., the operator of Camp Barnabas.
