Parson names bank exec to college board

Shanda Trautman: The position is a workforce development win.

Gov. Mike Parson appointed Old Missouri Bank executive Shanda Trautman to the State Technical College of Missouri Board of Regents.

Trautman said via email she’s filling the Linn tech college board seat left vacant by Mark Collom. Her position expires at the end of 2021, at which time she can apply for an additional term. Trautman’s appointment by Parson is subject to approval by the Missouri Senate, with a vote scheduled in a couple weeks, she said.

“It is an honor to be appointed to a position that serves the state of Missouri,” Trautman said. “The priorities of State Tech and Gov. Parson align perfectly – workforce development is a key priority as we all work to move Missouri forward.”

Old Missouri Bank’s senior vice president and chief digital officer, Trautman said she became acquainted with State Technical College through her participation in the Leadership Missouri class of 2017. Another participant was State Technical College President Shawn Strong, who educated her on the school’s purpose.

“I gained valuable knowledge on the direct impact that State Tech has on our state’s workforce development and bridging the skills gap and most importantly, economic development – helping push Missouri forward as we fight for business projects, expansion and talent,” Trautman said.

She said she applied for the board seat after it became open last summer.

State Technical College provides technical education in the areas of agriculture, business, construction, electronics and computer technology, health science, industrial and manufacturing, transportation and utilities, according to its website.

A news release on the school’s website indicates record attendance of 1,483 students was set in August 2018.

State Technical College’s other board members, according to its website, are:
• John Klebba, president of Legends Bank in Linn;
• Kevin O’Mara, member of Plumbers’ & Pipefitters’ Local Union No. 562; and
• Steve Sellenriek, vice president of Sellenriek Construction in Jonesburg.

Trautman also is a board member for the city of Springfield’s Public Building Corp., according to a release from Parson’s office.
