Posted online

Gov. Mike Parson yesterday announced the appointment of four Springfield-area residents to state boards and commissions.

Two Springfieldians, Dr. Gabriel Cline and Amy Strauss, were selected, as was Dr. Ann Rost, of Marshfield, and Stacie Scrivner, of Mount Vernon, according to a news release.

Cline, the owner of Psych Associates LLC counseling firm, and Rost, a professor and assistant psychology department head at Missouri State University, were appointed to the Missouri State Committee of Psychologists. The committee grants licenses, investigates consumer complaints, and disciplines law and rule violations regulating the psychology practice in Missouri, according to its website.

Strauss, a retired 27-year City Utilities of Springfield employee, was selected by Parson to join the Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors and Professional Landscape Architects. She most recently worked as CU's power generation engineering manager and now will help to regulate the design industries.

Scrivner, a learning specialist in academic services for the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences with campuses in Kansas City and Joplin, joins the Missouri Dental Board, according to the release. The board handles licensing and rule violation discipline for dental organizations. Scrivner previously was an assistant professor of dental hygiene and chair of Missouri Southern State University’s Dental Hygiene Department.
