O'Reilly Auto ranks on Forbes' list of best employers for vets

O’Reilly Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: ORLY) is one of only four Missouri-based companies on Forbes' annual list of the best employers for veterans.

The Springfield-based auto parts retailer ranked No. 122 on the list of 200 employers. The Forbes list was released Nov. 9, just ahead of Veterans Day.

In partnership with market research company Statista, Forbes ranked employers using surveys of roughly 7,000 U.S. veterans working at companies based in America with at least 1,000 employees. Respondents were asked to rate their employers on topics such as career development, reputation, salary and wages, veteran recruitment processes and pipelines, veteran representation in leadership roles and philanthropic efforts geared toward veterans.

O'Reilly Automotive's individual metrics were not disclosed in the report.

The other Missouri-based companies on the list are No. 37 Cass Information Systems, of St. Louis; No. 166 Ascension, of St. Louis; and No. 190 Burns & McDonnell, of Kansas City.

The top-ranked organization nationwide is federal aerospace agency NASA.

O’Reilly Automotive recently reported third-quarter net income of $585.4 million, a 4.8% increase from $558.7 million a year earlier. Sales during the quarter were up 9.2% to $3.8 billion from $3.5 billion in the same three-month period of 2021, according to past reporting.

ORLY shares were trading at $838.01 as of 10:34 a.m., compared with a 52-week range of $562.90 to $847.93 per share.
