The Urban Cup
After closing its doors in February on East Walnut Street, The Urban Cup is back in operation, opening July 17 at 1952 E. Grand St. Owners Tracey and Cory Withoelder signed a two-year lease for undisclosed terms with building owner Eric Roberts to restart the cupcake shop. The 2,700-square-foot space, near the railroad tracks off of Glenstone Avenue, already had an existing kitchen and sufficient parking, Tracey Withoelder said. It needed a little renovation, she said, declining to disclose costs. “It fit everything we were looking for,” she said. Operating under CT Bakery LLC, the Withoelders are the lone employees. She noted electrical work and equipment delays pushed back the opening a week. They plan a marketing drive to promote the new location to customers. “They have been very loyal and very excited and eager for us to open,” she said. “We can’t wait to get our cupcakes back in their hands.” Cupcakes are priced $3 apiece and a dozen for $30, according to its website.

Business Scents LLC
With a background in fire and water damage restoration and carpet cleaning, David Fieth is now handling air treatment with Business Scents LLC. The Pleasant Hope-based mobile business started in late January serving southwest Missouri, Fieth said. As the lone employee, he said startup costs were around $5,000. He is a distributor for Vaportek. The Wisconsin-based company sells products for homes and businesses that utilize an essential oil, dry vapor technology to neutralize organic-based odors, such as mold and mildew, garbage, smoke, flood damage and from animals. “My main focus has been Realtors, property managers and car dealerships,” he said. “We eliminate odors but have fragrances for homeowners, too.” He said the products, with more than a dozen fragrances, are environmentally friendly.

H&M
The eighth Missouri location for international clothing retailer H&M opened June 28 at Branson Landing. Parent company H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB signed a multiyear lease for undisclosed terms in summer 2017 with HCW Development Co. LLC, which owns the Branson outdoor shopping and dining center. To accommodate H&M, women’s clothing store Chico’s moved to another location in the Landing, said Rick Huffman, CEO of HCW. H&M occupies roughly 21,000 square feet at the town square area of Branson Landing, adjacent to Cantina Laredo. The retailer, which recorded $25.9 billion in 2017 revenue, sells clothing for women, men and teens, along with accessories and a kids collection for newborns to 14-year-olds. According to H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB’s six-month investor report released in June, the company plans to open 390 stores and close 150 this year.
