Salt Water Well
Nixa gained a new yoga studio with the March 31 opening of Salt Water Well LLC. The studio at 916 N. Main St., Ste. 8, is a first-time venture for Hannah Jayne Harris. She said startup costs were around $17,000, but she declined to disclose the three-year lease rate with Estes Stancer Commercial Group LLC. Harris said the four-employee, 1,250-square-foot studio focuses on group yoga with up to seven people per class, predominantly focused on restorative, yin and yang, and gentle movement styles. Services for infrared sauna, halotherapy and foot soaks also are offered. Yoga classes range $10 for a single session or $70 per month for unlimited sessions. Memberships for unlimited yoga and services are $165 per month, according to the studio’s website. Harris said she teaches yoga while maintaining her full-time job as a psychology instructor at Missouri State University.

Angler’s Lodge
Bass Pro Shops opened a remodeled Hollister hotel with the March 12 launch of Angler’s Lodge at 291 Financial Drive. Bass Pro spokesperson Janet Glaser said Bass Pro purchased the 94-room property, formerly a La Quinta Inn, in October 2020, but she decliend to disclose terms or renovation costs. She said room rates fluctuate based on occupancy, but typically start at $229 per night. Angler’s Lodge amenities include a complimentary breakfast, 24-hour fitness center and an indoor pool, Glaser said, adding Bass Pro opened restaurant Tall Tales Bar & Grill July 30 in a building adjacent to the hotel. She said the 20-employee hotel is managed by Anna Zadneprovskaia. Angler’s Lodge is located about 10 minutes from Big Cedar, where Payne’s Valley opened in September 2020 as its newest golf course. It’s the second Angler’s hotel for Bass Pro after the 2018 opening in Springfield of Angler’s Inn. The company converted a Days Inn hotel across the street from the Bass Pro and Wonders of Wildlife Museum & Aquarium campus.

Crosstown Barbecue
In its 51st year operating a brick-and-mortar restaurant, Crosstown Barbecue Inc. has added a food truck. Owner Steve Williams said he opened the mobile eatery July 14 at 1265 E. Battlefield Road in the parking lot of a Pep Boys auto shop. Williams, who estimated $28,000 in startup costs, said this was his first year to seriously consider opening a food truck. “I wanted to have something south but on a busy street as well,” he said, noting the Battlefield Road space was formerly occupied by That Lebanese Place’s food truck. Williams said the menu, which includes smoked meats, ribs and sandwiches, also has barbecue nachos and smoked turkey legs that aren’t sold at the 1331 E. Division St. restaurant. Most items range $8-$19, according to the menu. Williams said he plans to add to the truck’s two-employee count in hopes of expanding days of operation. Crosstown Barbecue was started in 1970 by Williams’ father, Jesse.
