One 2 Five Taproom
The first of two planned expansion efforts by Springfield Brewing Co. launched Aug. 17 in Rogersville. SBC co-owner Christina Chanter said One 2 Five Taproom fills 4,000 square feet in space formerly occupied by the shuttered Bub’s Distillery and is a play on the facility’s address of 1846 S. State Highway 125. She declined to disclose the taproom’s startup costs or lease terms with CCW Properties LLC. She said the Rogersville facility has 14 SBC beers on tap along with several kegged wine options and spirits from its sister company, Ty Iechyd Da Distillery. Its food menu includes wood-fired pizzas, salads and shareables, such as beer bratwursts, soft pretzels and garlic cheese sticks. Prices range $8-$22. Chanter said the 13-person staff, which will soon expand, is led by General Manager Mike Evans. Additionally, SBC is renovating a 5,420-square-foot building in Willard it is leasing from Ozark Greenways Inc. for another taproom. She said plans are to open the Willard facility at 115 E. Jackson St. in October.

Legal Services of Southern Missouri
Officials with nonprofit Legal Services of Southern Missouri say the organization completed a move July 1 in advance of an Aug. 15 ribbon-cutting, building dedication and open house ceremony for its new headquarters at 3130 S. Delaware Ave. LSSM officials declined to disclose the purchase price and renovation costs for the approximately 20,000-square-foot building. A Greene County recorder filing shows an April 2023 warranty deed between LSSM and Warren Davis Properties for the property, which previously was occupied by Cennox, according to Google Maps. The nonprofit formerly operated at 809 N. Campbell Ave. Community Partnership of the Ozarks Inc. in August purchased the Campbell Avenue property for $1.7 million, according to Melody Shuck, CPO’s vice president of communications. CPO plans to use the 10,000-square-foot building for homelessness services with a tentative opening date of spring 2025. LSSM, which employs 35, provides free civil legal assistance for low-income individuals and families across 43 southern Missouri counties.

Springfield Fire Department Station No. 7
The city of Springfield cut the ribbon July 16 for its newest fire station at 2129 E. Sunshine St., east of Glenstone Avenue. The $4.2 million, 6,367-square-foot facility, which serves the east side, is one of 13 fire stations in the city. It replaces a structure that was built in 1958 and demolished in March 2023. The Springfield Fire Department’s Station No. 7 houses three shifts of four crew members, said Jennifer Swan, city architect for the Public Works Department. Crossland Construction Co. Inc. was general contractor for the project with Esterly Schneider & Associates Inc., Chicago-based BKV Group and frankZdesign LLC as architects. Swan said funding is expected to be available in 2026 for design and construction of a 14th fire station in the city at the northeast corner of West Chestnut Expressway and North Duke Avenue. The fire station projects are funded by the city’s level property tax, which voters renewed indefinitely in 2017.
