Mercy Clinic Primary Care
Mercy Springfield Communities cut the ribbon July 8 for its newest Queen City clinic, and the event also marked its opening for patients. The 3253 E. Chestnut Expressway, Ste. 201, facility in the Frisco Building is expected to serve 15,000 patients, officials say. The clinic is dubbed Mercy Clinic Primary Care. McCarthy Building Cos. Inc. served as general contractor for the $6.5 million project designed by Buf Architecture Studio LLC. Zach Adams is serving as clinic director, with Jim Lawrence as clinic manager, said Mercy spokesperson Ettie Berneking, noting six providers are signed on for the 24,000-square-foot facility. The Frisco Building facility is Mercy’s only northeast Springfield primary care clinic, and it specializes in occupational medicine and therapy services. X-ray and lab services also are available, and Mercy intends to add five new primary care physicians and four advanced practice providers to staff the clinic within the next 12 months, according to officials.

OakStar Bank
The newest branch of OakStar Bank opened in Nixa, with its April 15 start continuing the bank’s multistate expansion. The 605 West Aven Ave. branch has 24 employees, boosting the bank’s workforce total to around 400, said Chief Communications Officer Stephanie Hart. Bank officials declined to disclose estimated startup costs for the specific location, but the square footage of the new branch is roughly 19,000 square feet. Base Construction & Management LLC was general contractor on the project with Baron Design & Associates LLC as principal architect and frankZdesign LLC as landscape architect. Management for the branch includes Lance Pearce as community bank president and Audri Reed as assistant vice president and retail manager. OakStar Bank is a locally owned, Springfield-based bank offering personal, business and private banking services. Since 2009, the bank has expanded from its first location on East Battlefield Road to nearly 30 branches across Missouri, Kansas and Colorado.

Celebrations on C-Street
A Springfield-based children’s entertainment company opened a birthday party and event venue July 27 on Commercial Street. Kayla Buecker, owner of Princesses of the 417 LLC, which sends costumed characters out for private and public events, said her new venture, Celebrations on C-Street LLC, is planning an Aug. 11 grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It occupies 2,000 square feet at 215 W. Commercial St. and can be rented out for birthday parties and special events. She said the space also doubles as headquarters for her entertainment company. Buecker declined to disclose startup costs or her one-year lease rate with landlord Ted Tabor. Her new venture fills space previously occupied by party supply shop Serendipity, which recently moved to 225 E. Commercial St. She said one of Serendipity’s owners, Sydnie Myers, notified her earlier this year of the planned move for her business. Princesses, fairy-tale characters and superheroes comprise most of the over 60 costumed options for Princesses of the 417.
