Maria’s Mexican Kitchen Southside LLC
Maria’s Mexican Kitchen Southside LLC began curbside pickup service April 30 at 4610 S. Campbell Ave. It’s the second Maria’s for husband and wife Chris and Monica Guest, who co-own the downtown eatery at 406 South Ave. The couple teamed up with James Tillman as owners of the 4,068-square-foot south-side restaurant, which cost $397,880 to construct, according to a Greene County building permit. Tillman, who has ownership in 10 restaurants, declined to disclose the five-year lease rate with Morris Dock of Three-D Properties Inc. Dock’s MoDoCo Inc. was general contractor on the project designed by Esterly Schneider and Associates Inc. Maria’s Manager Celine Roberts leads the 45-employee staff, which Tillman said began dine-in service May 18. Its menu is identical to the downtown restaurant, which includes fajitas, chiles rellenos and fried tacos, priced $9-$15.

Summit Truck Group LLC
Lewisville, Texas-based Summit Truck Group LLC expanded in Springfield through the purchase of Jenkins Diesel Power Inc.’s Isuzu franchise rights. The deal closed April 1 for undisclosed terms, said Summit Chief Financial Officer Scott Gill. Both companies sell commercial trucks. Summit Area Sales Director Steve Cook said the company’s 63,000-square-foot facility on 10 acres at 2635 E. Diamond St. in Springfield easily could accommodate the Isuzu trucking product line. It expands the commercial truck lineup for Summit, which he said employs 57 locally. Cook said an additional five employees would be added to support the Isuzu line, which already was sold at Summit’s Lowell, Arkansas; Memphis; and Oklahoma City dealerships. Summit CEO Justin Fink said the Isuzu products would target plumbers, electricians and landscapers, among other small-business categories.

Rocco’s Pizza of Bolivar LLC
Polk County gained a new pizzeria with the May 8 opening of Rocco’s Pizza of Bolivar LLC. Franchisee Kevin Allen renovated a 92-year-old building at 213 S. Main Ave. to launch the newest Rocco’s Pizza shop. He said it’s the ninth in the Ozarks for the family-owned franchise, which the Palazzolo family started in 1969 in New Jersey. Other area Rocco’s Pizza restaurants are in Springfield, Branson, Monett, Ozark, Nixa and Republic, and a food truck operates in Rogersville. Allen said startup costs came in under $100,000, including the building purchase, renovations and an undisclosed franchise fee. He and his wife, Denise, previously operated a Rocco’s franchise for six years through 2015 in Marionville. The couple exited the business after Denise became ill with a neurological condition. The menu has over a dozen pizzas, with most priced $8.50-$18.25, along with subs, calzones and salads. Only carryout is available at this time, amid COVID-19 restrictions.
