Loehr Health Center
After changing its name at the start of the year to reflect expanded services, Loehr Health Center relocated Feb. 3 to Farmers Park. The company, formerly Loehr Chiropractic and Acupuncture LLC, now offers primary care, physical therapy and functional medicine at its new home at 2144 E. Republic Road, Ste. A104. The practice occupies 12,000 square feet, filling vacancies by Staxx and Jellybeans stores, which moved last year to Brentwood Center North. Dr. Steven Loehr leads the staff of 37 for the practice, which moved from 3021 E. Sunshine St. Marketing Director Brittany Zachary said the company renewed its lease for the Sunshine clinic but currently has set no date to reopen. She declined to disclose renovation costs or lease terms with Farmers Park developer Green Circle Projects LLC. Carson-Mitchell Inc. handled infill for the new clinic, with H Design Group LLC serving as architect, she said.

Contender eSports Springfield LLC
Video gaming center Contender eSports Springfield LLC launched Feb. 1 at 3010 S. National Ave. Co-owner Brett Payne also operates umbrella company Contender eSports LLC to sell franchises of the concept he started after the steady rise of the competitive multiplayer video gaming industry. Four franchises have been sold since late 2018. The Springfield center, opened by Payne and his wife, Kristi, is the franchise’s fifth, set up in a 2,500-square-foot space that formerly housed a check advance and payday loan business. The Paynes signed a five-year lease for an undisclosed rate with SVN/Rankin Co. Brett Payne said startup costs were around $260,000. The five-employee center offers such popular games as League of Legends, Overwatch and Fortnite, as well as tournaments, seasons and leagues. Players can pay by the hour, purchase day or night passes or sign up for monthly memberships. Payne also owns marketing and consulting firm Kinetic 5 Consulting LLC.

Prickly Cactus Coffee and Boutique LLC
The 3-month-old Cowboy Boutique LLC rebranded Feb. 1 as Prickly Cactus Coffee and Boutique LLC at 1100 Spur Drive, Ste. 20, in Marshfield. Co-owner Jessica Rezak said she desired a more visible site and wanted to include coffee as a new element of the business. She and her husband, Jeff, also relocated the Western-themed boutique business from the Hwy 38 Arena. Most of the 1,400-square-foot new space is devoted to the 24-seat coffee shop, although Jessica Rezak said she’s still selling boutique products on-site. Items include art, home decor, handmade jewelry and coffee-scented soaps. New and used horse equipment, including saddles, also is for sale. She estimated a $20,000 investment in the changes, adding the couple signed a one-year lease with Robert Headley for an undisclosed rate. The drink menu features mochas, lattes, frappes and spiced chai with prices generally in the $2.80-$5.25 range. “We are avid coffee drinkers and Marshfield had a need. This was the best way to combine them both,” she said.
