Doula Foundation of Mid-America Inc.
The Doula Foundation of Mid-America Inc. moved April 15 to 1901 E. Meadowmere St. The nonprofit, which provides birth and postpartum doula services for at-risk families, had operated in donated space from Preferred Family Healthcare Inc. at 1111 S. Glenstone Ave. A move was necessitated when PFH last year asked the foundation and two other nonprofits to vacate. Doula Foundation CEO Kimberly Costello said over 100 individuals, businesses, churches and organizations volunteered 1,200 hours of labor and $30,000 in resources to renovate the 4,000-square-foot office. Costello said 13 employees work at the facility, which was donated to the Community Foundation of the Ozarks’ charitable real estate foundation by John Cooper, owner and CEO of The Harry Cooper Supply Co. Building ownership is expected to eventually transfer to the Doula Foundation, Costello said.

Common Sleep LLC
Common Sleep LLC, which provides sleep testing and diagnosis for sleep-related issues and disorders, opened March 1 in the Medical Mile Plaza at 3246 S. National Ave. Owner Matt Banks said the eight-employee office currently works exclusively with self-pay clients. Terms of the lease with LG III LLC were undisclosed. Banks began his career as a respiratory therapist, graduating from the now-defunct Springfield-based St. John’s School of Respiratory Therapy in 1978. In 2001, Banks started affiliated companies, Core Home Sleep Testing LLC and Rural Sleep Solutions LLC, which he continues to operate. He said Common Sleep has on staff three registered polysomnographic technologists, one of whom is certified in clinical sleep health, and a certified respiratory therapist. Aside from in-lab sleep testing, the 3,000-square-foot facility provides home sleep apnea testing and sleep consultation.
