Real estate firm Alpha Realty MO LLC moved Aug. 1 to 1900 S. Ventura Ave. The company, which co-owners Adam Johnson and Aaron Owens created in early 2019, formerly operated at 420 W. Walnut Lawn St. Owens said he and Johnson purchased the Ventura Avenue building for an undisclosed price from Ed Samek, who was a partner in certified public accounting firm Bohl, House and Samek CPAs before the practice sold for undisclosed terms in July to Springfield-based Bell CPA LLC. Owens said the building is roughly 10,000 square feet and has 21 private offices. Relocation and renovation costs were $60,000, he said, noting new floors, paint and completing an unfinished area for training were among work completed. Owens said Alpha Realty, which handles residential and commercial real estate sales, had outgrown its Walnut Lawn Street location. The two owners are among four employees of the company, but Owens said the firm’s 90 independent real estate agents will have access to the new office space.

Doggy Style Food Truck
Mobile hot dog eatery Doggy Style Food Truck LLC opened its first brick-and-mortar shop Oct. 5 at the Battlefield Mall. The restaurant is located near JCPenney in space formerly occupied by Dairy Queen. Jeremy Mathis, who co-owns Doggy Style with wife Tambera, said they signed a three-year lease for an undisclosed rate with mall owner Simon Property Group Inc. He said startup costs were $3,000, noting the mall already had most of the equipment the eatery needed. The food truck launched in April 2021 and features a menu of over 20 hot dogs with unique toppings such as pulled pork, mac and cheese, Buffalo chicken dip and crab meat. All its hot dogs are named after dog breeds. The mall shop’s menu added breakfast items served all day, such as biscuits and gravy with bacon crumbles and a biscuit sandwich with pulled pork, jalapenos, eggs and cheese. Food prices range $2.50-$9. The company added a second food truck in May after scrapping a plan to launch an Italian beef concept.

Elevate Thrift Store
Downtown Lebanon gained a new retailer with the Aug. 12 launch of Elevate Thrift Store. The shop at 103 N. Madison Ave. is owned by Elevate Lebanon, a licensed affiliate of Elevate Branson, which combats poverty in the Branson area. Patti Brayfield, president of the Elevate Lebanon Board of Directors, said Elevate Lebanon licenses marketing and programs from Elevate Branson, such as Elevate Connections, which connects people with local community resources, and Elevate Work, a workforce development course focused on helping participants find and keep employment. Brayfield said the 3,125-square-foot thrift store was opened to generate funds to support its other programs. She said Elevate Lebanon acquired donations and grants from local organizations to help cover $30,000 spent in renovations for the 122-year-old building. All thrift store merchandise is clean and gently used, Brayfield said, adding it sells clothing, housewares, home decor and furniture.
