At 308 W. McDaniel St., McGehee sells specialty cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pastries and breads. Cake prices range from an 8-inch round for $14 to a 12-inch layer cake for $42, according to www.sweetsbyamycakes.com, where McGehee maintains a blog. DermaHealth Laser and Skin Care Clinic

Dr. Thomas and Cheryl Briggs in July bought DermaHealth Laser and Skin Care Clinic, 1902 E. Battlefield Road, Ste. A, from Chuck, Steve and Dr. Gary Goforth. The Goforths opened the clinic as Dermacare of Springfield in 2005 and changed the name to DermaHealth in 2008; at the time, more than 20,000 medical procedures had been conducted on about 4,000 clients. Thomas Briggs is a neurosurgeon and wife Cheryl is a registered nurse at DermaHealth. According to clinic administrator Nancy Merry, DermaHealth offers aesthetic and skin care services including liposuction, permanent cosmetics and microdermabrasion. Seven RNs, two licensed aestheticians and two doctors are on staff, Merry said. Hours: 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Phone: (417) 447-7777.

Rublemizers Sports Cards, Comic Books and Collectibles

Rublemizers Sports Cards, Comic Books and Collectibles moved Sept. 1 to 3160 S. Campbell Ave. The store, which sells comic books, sports cards and collectible toys, operated for two years at 1960 S. Glenstone Ave. Owner Danial Ruble said his lease was up and he decided to look for a more visible site. The 1,000-square-foot Campbell Avenue space, which is shared with Double Play Sports, is about the same size as the old location, but Ruble said it affords more wall space for merchandise. Relocation costs were about $2,500, said Ruble, who works by day as an exterior masonry subcontractor. Hours: 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Phone: (417) 882-0070.
