Springfield-based Old Missouri Bank made a hire that's a first in the company's history.
Blake Miller started Sept. 26 as vice president and controller, said Director of Marketing Ryan Bowling. It's a new position for OMB, he said.
OMB announced Miller’s hiring in a news release yesterday. He joins the company from Stockmens Bank in Ava, where he was a lender and branch manager. Miller also has served as mayor of the city of Mansfield for more than seven years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
“As we continue to experience rapid growth, his knowledge and experience will help ensure that OMB’s finance and accounting department meets the growing expectations of our customers, shareholders, board of directors and teammates," said Jeff Palmer, the company's chief financial officer.
As controller, Miller assists Palmer with accounting-related functions such as monthly reporting and account reconciliations, the preparation of financial statements and budgeting, said Bowling.
OMB’s assets, as of June 30, were roughly $988 million, according to Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. data.
