Posted online

Old Missouri Bank announced the hiring of a new chief operations officer.

The company conducted a search that identified Stephen Bishop as the frontrunner, according to a news release. He joins Old Missouri Bank after working the last seven years as director of client services at Jack Henry & Associates Inc. (Nasdaq: JKHY).

“We are confident Steve will add a fresh perspective and a forward-thinking mindset to our team," Old Missouri Bank President and CEO Mark Harrington said in the release. "He is a team-oriented player, who excels in big-picture thinking and strategy while working within daily operations."

Old Missouri Bank spokesperson Shanda Trautman said the company's previous COO, Jim Gorst, died unexpectedly in March of "sudden natural causes."

Old Missouri Bank ranked No. 10 on Springfield Business Journal's 2020 list of the area's largest banks and savings banks, based on Springfield metropolitan statistical area deposits reported to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. as of June 30. The company had $421.4 million in local deposits at the time. For the list set to publish in the Nov. 23 issue, Old Missouri Bank also reported $2.5 million in local net operating income, $603.8 million in assets, $558.1 million in local net loans, 105 employees and seven local branches.
