Accounting
KPM CPAs & Advisors hired Brian Collier, Eric Renner and Keeley Rogers as staff accountants, and Susan Stallcup as an administrative assistant. With five years of experience, Collier provides tax services and holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Missouri State University. Renner also performs tax services, and he holds bachelor’s degrees in accounting and finance from Drury University. A former KPM intern, Rogers provides audit services and holds a bachelor’s in accounting and an MBA from MSU. Stallcup has 25 years of administrative experience and previously assisted the firm the past two tax seasons.

BKD LLP promoted Dakota Comer, Ana Folk, Kelly Hamly, Zach Herbert and Stacey Williams to senior associates. Handling business tax compliance and full-service accounting outsourcing for the firm, Comer holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from MSU. Folk is a member of the audit team, specializing in the nonprofit, health care and higher education industries. She holds a master of accountancy degree from MSU. Hamly provides audit services in the financial, nonprofit, employee benefits and health care sectors. She holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Arkansas State University-Jonesboro and a master of accountancy as well as a forensic accounting certificate from MSU. With bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from MSU, Herbert handles tax services in the retail, manufacturing and health care industries. Williams provides commercial and nonprofit health care audit services and holds a bachelor’s in accounting from College of the Ozarks.

Architecture
Scott Wyatt joined Hood-Rich Inc. as a design professional. He has 22 years of experience and relocated from Massachusetts.

Education
Drury University ranked second among U.S. News & World Report’s Best Value Universities in the Midwest and 12th on the Best Regional University in the Midwest list, an increase of 14 spots. Other Drury appearances on U.S. News’ Best Colleges 2022 report are for the Best Undergraduate Business Program nationally and the Top Performers in Social Mobility.

The Chronicle of Higher Education named Ozarks Technical Community College in its Great Colleges to Work For program. Based on surveys of nearly 200 colleges and universities, 70 institutions were recognized for best employment practices and policies. OTC earned a spot among institutions with 10,000 or more students and made the Honor Roll with 42 schools for high scores in several categories, such as job satisfaction, professional development and confidence in senior leadership.

Government
Sgt. Heather Anderson of the Springfield Police Department received one of 22 Missouri Public Safety Medals awarded to first responders and civilians by Gov. Mike Parson. Anderson was recognized for her response when colleague Officer Mark Priebe was hit and run over by a vehicle in the SPD parking lot. She arrived when Priebe was pinned under the car, and she immediately approached the driver, ultimately firing her duty weapon to strike the assailant’s upper arm, resulting in his surrender.

Nonprofit
The Missouri Public Transit Association elected Matt Crawford of City Utilities of Springfield as board secretary and appointed board member Sara Fields of the Ozarks Transportation Organization to another two-year term. The selections were made during the 2021 MPTA annual meeting as a part of the Midwest Transit Conference.
