Paragon Architecture LLC hired Phil Young as project director. He has 24 years of industry experience, including emphasis in designs for education, hospitality, athletics and senior living communities.

Banking & Finance
Central Bank of the Ozarks chose Jamilah Saunders for its diversity internship and scholarship program. She graduated from Parkview High School in May, and while interning at the bank will attend Missouri State University, majoring in business with an emphasis in entrepreneurship.

Education
Drury University’s online bachelor’s degree in general studies was ranked as one of the top 20 programs in the country by TheBestSchools.org, citing its flexibility. The independent rankings website is a member of the American Council on Education and the National Association for College Admission Counseling.

Nixa Public Schools won seven Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals awards during the Hermes Creative Awards 2019 competition. Nixa earned platinum for the media coverage it received of its on-site clinic implementation; gold for its QuickNews TV, The Nest magazine and Athlete of the Week video; as well as three honorable mentions.

College of the Ozarks awarded the Chris Waller Memorial Scholarship to alumnus Chandler Hall. A 2017 graduate, he currently is enrolled in dental school at Indiana University in Indianapolis. The scholarship is given to graduates with outstanding character who are furthering their education.

Government
Gov. Mike Parson named five local professionals to state boards and commissions: Dr. Matthew Brandt to the Board of Health and Senior Services; Kaylyn Lambert and Dr. Nick Pfannenstiel to the MO HealthNet Oversight Committee; Jeff Ussery to the Amusement Ride Safety Board; and James Ludden to the Fire Safety Education/Advisory Commission.

Brandt, of Springfield, is a physician and emergency medical director at CoxHealth. Lambert, of Nixa, is the system director of patient experience at CoxHealth, and Pfannenstiel, of Willard, is vice president of oral health at Jordan Valley Community Health Center. Ludden, of Bolivar, is a battalion chief for the Battlefield Fire Protection District. Ussery, of Republic, is the safety and security manager for Silver Dollar City Attractions.

Health Care
The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association recognized three CoxHealth hospitals with Get With The Guidelines awards for stroke and cardiac care. Cox South, Cox Branson and Cox Monett each earned Stroke Gold Plus awards, and Cox South also earned a Resuscitation Silver for Pediatric award. Recipients meet quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke and cardiac patients at a set level for a designated period.

Municipal
Springfield Assistant City Attorney Jan Millington was promoted to deputy city attorney. She has worked for the city since 2007, focusing primarily on Public Works and Environmental Services issues. Previously, Millington was a partner with Hall Ansley PC and an associate and law clerk at other firms.

Nonprofit
Lost & Found Grief Center added Jamie Fields as director of development and Lizz Walrath as marketing coordinator. Fields worked with the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce since 2012, serving in several roles, including management of membership development and Leadership Springfield. Walrath, who will be working as a part-time marketing manager, was previously Springfield Ballet Inc.’s office manager for three years.
