Accounting
The Whitlock Co. promoted Olivia Cole to partner. With a bachelor’s in accounting and business management from Drury University, the certified public accountant started at The Whitlock Co. as an intern in 2014.

Architecture
BRP Architects appointed Renee Vines as financial controller. With over 32 years of experience in accounting, Vines has a bachelor’s in accounting from Missouri State University.

Consulting
Dustin Beasley, owner of 417 Resume Renovators LLC, won a first-place award at the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches’ annual conference. Beasley placed first in the Mid-Career Professional category of the 2024 Elite Circle Resume Contest. Beasley has a bachelor’s in business management and a Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University.

Education
Branson Bank awarded three $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in Taney and Stone counties. The recipients, Isacc Beebe of Hollister High School, Madilynn Cook of Forsyth High School and Sy Rosipal of Branson High School, plan to further their education in the banking and finance industry.

Mya Coalson, a recent graduate of Nixa High School, received a $1,000 Founders Fund Scholarship from Junior League of Springfield. Graduating with a 3.98 GPA, Coalson dedicated over 100 volunteer hours at Mercy Orthopedic Hospital and participated in leadership as an officer in the National Honor Society.

Health Care
CoxHealth nurse Kristy McCaslin was recognized with the Daisy Award for her patient service based on nominations for the honor. The Ozarks Dialysis Services nurse was recognized for helping to extend the life of a patient.

Cox Barton County Hospital was honored as one of the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals. The CoxHealth hospital in Lamar has secured the top 20 ranking for three consecutive years in the list by the Chartis Center for Rural Health and announced by the National Rural Health Association.

Law
The Springfield Police Officers Association recognized three Springfield Police Department employees with awards during the Gold Badge Ball. With 23 years of service, Cpl. Marcus Walker was honored as Corporal of the Year for work that includes his service to the training unit. Officer of the Year honors went to Seth Miller, for his attendance record. Alexandria Rook, police services representative, received the Civilian of the Year award for her work ethic and dependability.

Manufacturing
Security and monitoring product manufacturer Digital Monitoring Products Inc. hired Jon Adams to oversee the company’s sales department as vice president of sales. It’s a return to DMP for Adams, who most recently served as CEO of LevelUp.

Nonprofit
Cassie Melvin was hired by Care to Learn as executive administrative assistant. She previously served as Ozarks Area Community Action Corp.’s Community Services Block Grant director.

Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri Inc. received a $2,961 grant from Ozarks Food Harvest for the purchase of a refrigerator at LifeHouse Crisis Maternity Home. The funding was made through an urgent need grant.

Springfield-based nonprofit The Warrior’s Journey was honored with the Seven Seals Award by the Department of Defense’s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. The award recognizes the nonprofit’s support of veterans and those who serve in the National Guard and Reserves.
