Accounting
KPM CPAs PC announced several promotions: Leslie Conklin and Amanda McCafferty to supervisors, and Madison Moore, Rachel Owen, Careena Wagner and Ross Wiseman to seniors. Conklin has nearly four years of experience providing audit services to clients. McCafferty has 15 years’ experience providing tax services. Moore has a year of experience and provides audit services in the nonprofit and governmental industries. With seven years’ experience, Owen provides accounting, outsourcing and payroll services. Wagner has 20 years’ experience and provides accounting, outsourcing and payroll services. With two years’ experience, Wiseman provides audit services in the nonprofit and governmental industries.

Agriculture
Tanner Clark, of Seymour, was named chair of the Missouri Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee at the organization’s 105th annual meeting at Lake of the Ozarks. Clark is ranch manager for his family’s CF Cattle Co. LLC.

Architecture
Dake Wells Architecture Inc. placed No. 13 on American Institute of Architects’ Architect Magazine’s top 50 list of U.S. design firms. Out of 182 firms considered, Dake Wells was one of eight Midwestern firms listed based on three categories: business, design and sustainability.

BRP Architects added Colin Rader as a student architectural intern. The fifth-year architecture student at Drury University is scheduled to graduate in May 2020 with a master of architecture and a bachelor’s in business.

Education
The Architect’s Newspaper selected Drury University’s Hammons School of Architecture project, A Home for MJ, as the winner in the Student Work-Group category for its 2019 Best of Design Awards. A group of fifth-year students and professor Traci Sooter created a tiny home for Eden Village in late 2018 with funding from the Jordan Valley Community Health Center. It was inspired by a 23-year-old deaf man named MJ.

Engineering
Leanna Hurt of Mettemeyer Engineering LLC earned her license as a professional engineer. She has been with the company since 2015. Hurt has a bachelor’s in civil engineering with a structural emphasis from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

Media
Amos Bridges was named editor of the Springfield News-Leader to succeed the retiring Cheryl Whitsitt. Bridges was formerly the News-Leader’s investigative editor starting in 2016 and now leads a staff of 17 as editor. The Springfield native’s career started as an intern with the newspaper in 2004.

Nonprofit
Abby Davis, chief operating officer at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool Inc., was named director of Pediatric Brain Foundation. In the additional role, Davis leads strategic discussions, community outreach and works to shape the foundation’s reach and impact through future hires. The nonprofit, started by Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool founders Matt and Rochette Dahler, provides financial support to families with children diagnosed with neurological disorders, brain cancers and traumatic brain injuries.
