New director takes reins of Robert J. Murney Clinic at Forest Institute
Brief: Appointment of Jennifer Baker, Psy.D., to lead operations at the teaching clinic is effective immediately, the school announced Oct. 17.
Jennifer Baker, Psy.D., a licensed marriage and family therapist, has been hired as director of the Robert J. Murney Clinic at Forest Institute, according to a news release from the school.
Located at 1322 S. Campbell Ave., the Murney clinic is a teaching clinic where clinical services are provided by psychological trainees, marriage and family therapy trainees, interns and licensed psychologists and professional counselors. The clinic uses an income-based fee structure that expands access to mental health services in southwest Missouri, according to ForestInstitute.org.
Baker also serves as vice president of innovation and community health for Forest Institute. Her work with Forest includes directing the Operation Us project, an outreach for couples and families; writing and directing the Child and Welfare Training Grant Project; and creating the Fridays @ Forest continuing education program.
Expanding the clinic’s local presence is among Baker’s goals for her new role.
“Every person who takes on a position brings something new, and I hope I can bring something worthwhile that will improve on what has already been done,” Baker said in the release.
