John Feick has retired from Ozark Trails Council.

A new CEO has been selected to lead the Springfield-based Ozark Trails Council Inc. of Boy Scouts of America.

Travis Rubelee said via email that he started as Scout executive and CEO on June 24. With a Scouting career that started in 2003 in Dallas, he most recently served as director of field service and chief operating officer for the Heart of America Council in Kansas City.

"I am delighted to serve the Scouts and families in southern Missouri and western Kansas through the Ozark Trails Council," Rubelee said. "Scouting has never been more important, as it provides all youth with a place to develop leadership skills, overcome challenges and grow into responsible members of society guided by the values of the Scout Oath and Law."

Rubelee said he succeeded John Feick, who recently retired from the organization. Feick led Ozark Trails Council for 12 years and served in Scouting for 40 years, Rubelee said.

As Scout executive and CEO of Ozark Trails Council, Rubelee leads an organization with a roughly $1.6 million budget, seven full-time employees and five part-time workers, he said.
