Neale & Newman recruits two new partners

Posted online

Neale & Newman LLP recruited two new partners from Baird Lightner Millsap PC.

Thompson and Baird are slated to join the firm March 1, according to a news release. At Neale & Newman, the attorneys will focus on civil litigation, including insurance defense and municipal law.

“Pat and Katherine are outstanding lawyers with depth of experience,” said Daniel Wooten, Neale & Newman's managing partner, in the release. “Their practice areas dovetail perfectly with our practices, and together we will be able to serve both our clients and their clients even better."

Officials with Neale & Newman and Baird Lightner Millsap did not respond to requests for comment by deadline on the partner changes.

Baird Lightner Millsap's website lists five partners, including Baird and Thompson.

Thompson joined Baird Lightner Millsap in 2013, followed by Baird in 2014, according to past reporting. Baird Lightner Millsap also employs co-founder and partner C. Ronald Baird; his relation to Patrick Baird is unclear.

With the addition of the two attorneys, Neale & Newman starting next month will increase its partner count to 15, according to the release.

Baird brings experience as assistant attorney general for Missouri and assistant prosecuting attorney for Cass County, according to the release. Thompson previously worked as an intern with the Missouri State Public Defender's Office Capital Division before entering private practice in Springfield.

The addition of Baird and Thompson follows partner changes at Neale & Newman last month: Longtime Neale & Newman partner Kevin Dunaway left to join Evans & Dixon LLC's Springfield office; Wooten was named Neale & Newman's managing partner; and attorney Nate Dunville was promoted to partner at the firm, according to past reporting.
