MSU, OTC pen articulation agreement

Posted online

Missouri State University this morning announced a new articulation agreement with Ozarks Technical Community College.

Through the deal, students who earn an associate of arts degree at OTC are guaranteed admission at MSU for their bachelor’s degree. Additionally, OTC students who complete their general education courses would not have to retake classes at MSU unless specifically required for their major, according to a news release.

“MSU takes great pride in being a transfer-friendly institution,” MSU Provost Frank Einhellig said in the release. “The collaboration of our academic departments with OTC to develop efficient transfer pathways will be a significant benefit to students as they seek to complete a bachelor’s degree program.”

The release referred to the agreement as a “2 plus 2 transfer plan.”

The latest agreement adds to existing partnerships between the two schools designed to ease the transfer process. OTC has deals in place with more than 30 four-year colleges, including Drury and Evangel universities.

Last month, OTC penned an articulation agreement with Southwest Baptist University. The deal allows OTC students to transition to SBU more easily.
