Officials at Missouri State and Evangel universities expanded their partnership by making it easier for Evangel students to enroll in accelerated master’s programs at MSU.
New memorandums of understanding were signed last month for students in the master’s of business, accountancy and cybersecurity programs, according to a news release issued this week.
“Because Evangel students have been such a welcome addition to our College of Business graduate programs, we wanted to reduce barriers for their students,” said Elizabeth Rozell, associate dean of the College of Business, in the release.
MSU’s accelerated master’s options allow students to be admitted into graduate programs and to dual-enroll for a limited amount of master’s-level coursework during their junior or senior years, according to the release. Evangel students will be evaluated and admitted using the same criteria and process as MSU students, including not having to take the Graduate Management Admission Test if they have a 3.6 GPA or better.
“This new agreement speaks well of the quality of our business students,” said Eveline Lewis, chair of Evangel’s Department of Business, in the release. “The updated MOU provides a fast-track option for our high-achieving students to pursue their business graduate degrees without taking GMAT. As our department is growing, we hope more students will take advantage of this opportunity.”
Evangel students accepted into an accelerated master’s program would be enrolled at MSU in an undergraduate exchange student classification. Those students would pay tuition and fees to Evangel according to the university’s fee structure, according to the release.
MSU’s financial aid office will work with Evangel to provide the necessary documentation of the joint enrollment for students receiving federal financial aid.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
