Missouri State University signed transfer agreements with the state’s two public law schools.
Through the agreements, MSU students can more quickly earn their Juris Doctor degrees at University of Missouri-Columbia and University of Missouri-Kansas City, according to a news release.
MSU students who have a political science major and a public law minor can transfer to Mizzou or UMKC after their third year with the Springfield-based college. They’ll then transfer credits from law school back to MSU to complete their bachelor’s degrees, meaning they can receive their law degree in six years instead of the usual seven.
“At a time when schools across the country are competing for students and dollars, it is gratifying that our three schools can work together for the benefit of our students and the citizens of Missouri,” MSU President Clif Smart said in the release.
MSU officials could not be reached for comment by deadline on the number of students the transfer agreements may impact.
