Mostly Serious execs launch company

Posted online

Two executives at Springfield website design and digital marketing firm Mostly Serious LLC are publicly debuting a new company after more than a year of "stealth operations."

Mostly Serious CEO Jarad Johnson and President Spencer Harris started consulting and leadership development company Habitat Communication & Culture in January 2020, according to a news release issued late last month. The company now is publicly accepting clients after the quiet launch. Johnson and Harris continue to hold their positions at Mostly Serious.

The idea for the new company was built as Mostly Serious broadened its use of systems such as data-driven assessments for clients.

“Over the past four years, we have witnessed the power of systems tailored to the specific needs of organizations, as we used those very systems to build Mostly Serious from a team of seven to a team of 15 while also doubling our client roster and more than tripling our revenue,” Harris said in the release.

Since its launch, Habitat brought on Benjamin Thomas, an assistant professor at Radford University, as a minority partner. The company also hired former Mostly Serious Client Services Director Laura Greene-Johnson as project coordinator.

Habitat has conducted work for Community Foundation of the Ozarks Inc., H Design Group LLC and Old Missouri Bank, according to the release.
