Morris ranks No. 92 on annual Forbes 400

Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris climbed the ranks on the annual Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans.

On the 41st annual Forbes 400 released this week, Morris is No. 92 with an estimated net worth of $7.8 billion. The 74-year-old last year ranked No. 134 with an estimated net worth of $6.9 billion.

Morris' Forbes profile estimates Bass Pro has $6.5 billion in annual sales.

On this year's Forbes 400, Morris ranks just ahead of Airbnb co-founder Nathan Blecharczyk, and he’s the top-ranked Missourian.

Other Missouri residents on the list are:
• Pauline MacMillan Keinath, of Cargill, $7.3 billion, No. 110,
• David Steward, of World Wide Technology, $6 billion, No. 155;
• Jim Kavanaugh, of World Wide Technology, $3.7 billion, No. 303; and
• Rodger Riney and family, of Scottrade/TD Ameritrade, $3.3 billion, No. 332.

Tesla boss Elon Musk climbed to No. 1 on the annual Forbes 400 list, pushing Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to No. 2. Musk's estimated net worth is $251 billion, with Bezos at $151 billion, according to Forbes. Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, who last year ranked No. 3, dropped to No. 11 with an estimated net worth of $57.7 billion.
