Milan Laser Hair Removal, a growing chain of clinics with its roots in the Midwest, is planning its first Springfield store.
Company spokesperson Bettia Turner said the 2754 S. Glenstone Ave. store in Brentwood Center North is planning an early November opening.
Brentwood Center North landlord Curtis Jared said Milan is taking on just over 1,700 square feet at the south end of the retail center, next to a T-Mobile store. Rug Fashion Store previously occupied the storefront before it relocated to a larger space in Brentwood Center North, next to Lululemon. Online marketing materials show Brentwood Center North is mostly occupied, with four spaces available for lease.
Founded in 2012 in Omaha, Nebraska, Milan Laser now has more than 80 clinics in 20 states spanning as far east as Maine, as far north as North Dakota, as far west as Colorado and as far south as Texas, according to its website. A year ago, the company had around 60 clinics, according to a news release at the time.
The company currently has six Missouri locations in the Columbia, Kansas City and St. Louis areas.
Milan provides laser hair removal treatments as an alternative to waxing and shaving. Its lasers are cleared for use by the Food and Drug Administration, and clinics employ nurses and certified laser technicians, according to its website.
Turner said an employee count at the Springfield store would become available closer to the planned opening.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
