Mid-Missouri Bank held a grand opening this weekend for its second Springfield branch.

The June 15 event marked the ceremonial opening of the roughly $1.28 million, 6,400-square-foot branch at 3546 E. Sunshine St., according to a news release. The bank officially opened for business June 6, and Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce representatives are scheduled to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony June 20, according to Crystal Hedrick of Noble, who handled public relations for the bank on the announcement.

Mid-Missouri Bank broke ground in October on the Springfield-based company's 15th branch in Missouri. The bank also operates a branch at 330 W. Plainview Road.

“This beautiful banking facility complements the rich heritage of Mid-Missouri Bank, which dates back to 1872,” said Dan Derges, Mid-Missouri Bank Springfield community president, in the release. “Our new location will position us to be more convenient and accessible to many of our current and potential customers.”

General contractor Crossland Construction Co. Inc. of Columbus, Kan. executed the design by project architect Marshall-Waters-Woody and Associates Inc. The property also can accommodate a 15,400-square-foot addition that would house a bank operations center, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

To celebrate the opening, Mid-Missouri Bank is donating $50 per new account opened through July 31 to one of three nonprofits: Ozarks Food Harvest, the account opener's local PTA or Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks, the release said.[[In-content Ad]]
