Mercy Springfield Communities today is scheduled to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony in advance of the planned Wednesday opening for its new $5.8 million south-side clinic.
Mercy spokeswoman Sonya Kullmann said Snyder Construction Group LLC recently wrapped up construction on the roughly 13,000-square-foot project developed by Pitt Development Group LLC.
The facility marks Mercy’s first newly constructed primary care clinic in Springfield in 20 years, according to a news release.
Dubbed Mercy Clinic Family Medicine – Scenic, the 2716 W. Republic Road facility replaces an adjacent office. Mercy last year demolished a handful of residential properties on the 2-acre site to make way for the new clinic, Springfield Business Journal previously reported.
Located at the Republic Road and Scenic Avenue intersection, the clinic is part of some $150 million in southwest Missouri capital projects Mercy reported it was working on this summer. Mercy Heart Hospital Springfield and a multispecialty clinic in Bolivar are among other projects.
The ribbon-cutting and blessing ceremony is scheduled at 2 p.m. today, according to the release. The event also will include tours of the clinic, which has 30 exam rooms and space for up to 10 health care providers.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
