Managing a Remote Team has Unique Challenges

“The challenging thing that I found with a team is ensuring engagement. That is really difficult,” says Angela Frantz with Ultimate Software. Frantz says we use visual cues to communicate and even though there are tools like Skype, it’s difficult to interpret intent when someone is remote. Employees also miss out on social interaction such as birthday celebrations. Frantz says it can be difficult to find ways to motivate remote team members.
