Pam Haldiman, 64, died "after a short illness," according to her obituary posted to WalnutLawnFuneralHome.com.

Haldiman, a licensed architect, worked at Sapp Design for 36 years, according to a notice from the company in a Springfield Contractors Association newsletter. She was the firm's second employee.

"Throughout her incredible career, she worked on over 900 projects, earning immense respect from all who had the privilege of working with her or calling her a friend. Pam's wealth of industry knowledge, unwavering dedication and steadfastness made her an invaluable team member," the notice reads. "While we deeply mourn her absence, we will forever cherish the personal memories she left with us, the buildings she designed and the mentorship she provided to so many individuals here at Sapp Design and within our broader community."

A focus of her work was on public safety, according to her obituary.

Haldiman is listed as a senior project manager on Sapp Design's website. The firm is the sixth largest in the area with 15 licensed architects and architects in training, according to Springfield Business Journal list research.
