Less than two months after launching a loan production office in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Springfield-based Legacy Bank & Trust Co. is growing in the market.
The company announced the addition of three new lending employees, and Legacy Bank President Brett Magers said there’s more business activity to come.
"We have just recently received approval from regulators for a full-service," Magers said via email, noting the branch is slated to open by early May. "We are just getting started in the Tulsa market on lending, but we already have a meaningful pipeline of business in the area that should contribute to the continued growth of the bank."
The company in early February opened the Tulsa loan production office under the direction of Nick Wofford, market president. A news release this week announcing the new employees indicated Legacy Bank is in the site-selection process for the construction of a permanent facility.
The hiring of Eric Gentry, Lindsey Peterson and Melanie Lawson brings the employee count in Tulsa to five, Magers said. Gentry and Peterson are serving as senior vice presidents of commercial lending, and Lawson was hired as a commercial loan assistant.
"All three additions convey a strong, team-first way of thinking and fit great with our culture, core values and future success as we continue to expand our footprint in Tulsa," company officials said in the release.
Tulsa is Legacy Bank's first market outside of Missouri, according to past reporting. The company’s website lists five branches in Missouri.
Late last year, Legacy Bank holding company Ozarks Heritage Financial Group Inc. was selected to receive $81.7 million from the U.S. Treasury Department's Emergency Capital Investment Program. The program is designed to support disadvantaged businesses and communities.
The company last year opened its new corporate headquarters, an $8 million, 40,000-square-foot building at 3250 E. Sunshine St.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
