Reynolds, Parmele & Gold PC and Traffic Law Professionals PC moved Dec. 28 to a brand-new office at 1240 E. Independence, adjacent to Quality Inn & Suites and south of Cox Medical Plaza II near the James River Freeway and National Avenue interchange. |ret||ret||tab|

Attorney Ken Reynolds said Reynolds, Parmele & Gold, which specializes in bankruptcy, Social Security and civil cases, was beginning to outgrow its rented space in the Hammons Building downtown, and that low mortgage rates allowed the firm to build the south Springfield offices. The firm established Traffic Law Professionals in 1998. |ret||ret||tab|

"A lot of law firms, as well as other businesses, are building their own offices and renting out the extra space now," Reynolds said. |ret||ret||tab|

Also housed in the new building are criminal defense attorney David Doran and physicians William Reynolds and Bryan Treacy. Doran, an independent attorney, co-owns the building with Reynolds, Parmele & Gold's three partners Reynolds, Dan Parmele and Jon Gold and William Reynolds, who is Ken Reynolds' brother. |ret||ret||tab|

Doran's offices were previously located at 1524 E. Primrose. Treacy, an OB/GYN and owner of Cosmetic Lasers of Southwest Missouri, practiced at 404 E. Battlefield before deciding to rent space in the new building. |ret||ret||tab|

William Reynolds' plastic surgery practice was previously housed at 3525 S. National. Two aestheticians, one of whom is employed by William Reynolds, provide facials and microdermabrasion at the medical offices. |ret||ret||tab|

Ken Reynolds said about 7,000 square feet of the building's space is occupied by Reynolds, Parmele & Gold, Traffic Law Professionals and Doran's office, and about 3,000 square feet is occupied by the physicians' offices. |ret||ret||tab|

The nearly 6-year-old law firm employs seven associate attorneys and 21 additional staff. The firm also has branch offices in West Plains, Joplin, Cape Girardeau, Mountain Grove and Topeka, Kan., which allows it to better serve its Social Security and bankruptcy clients in those cities. Reynolds said the firm represents both debtors and creditors in bankruptcy cases. |ret||ret||tab|

"About 45 percent of our business at Reynolds, Parmele & Gold is from Social Security cases, about 30 percent is bankruptcy cases and about 25 percent is from general civil cases," Reynolds said. "Of course, all of Traffic Law Professionals' business is traffic matters."|ret||ret||tab|

The general contractor for the 10,000-square-foot building was Friga Construction Company, and the architect was Dennis Spencer.|bold_on||bold_on||ret||ret||tab|
