Insurance software provider debuts at No. 1 on Dynamic Dozen

Next Level Solutions, an insurance software provider with 1,094% revenue growth 2018-20, earned the No. 1 spot in its first year on Springfield Business Journal's Dynamic Dozen awards list.

Twelve companies and six individuals were honored yesterday at an awards ceremony held at The Barley House at Moon Town Crossing. Around 195 people attended the event.

Next Level Solutions reported $19.1 million in 2020 revenue and 162 employees, a 1,520% increase from 2018. In the company's awards profile for SBJ's May 31 print edition, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Partner Michael Smith said the company since has grown its employee count to 208.

Next Level Solutions is a provider of Boston-based Duck Creek Technologies, which offers software for the property and casualty insurance industry.

Dynamic Dozen companies are determined through a numbers-based formula that awards points for both gross revenue and percentage growth 2018-20. Companies have to operate their headquarters in Springfield or report segment revenue for SBJ’s 50-mile coverage area.

5. Keller Williams Greater Springfield, $1.07 billion, 38%
6. Alps Pharmacy, $38.4 million, 70%
7. Burrell Behavioral Health, $151 million, 47%
8. Legacy Bank & Trust Co., $28.6 million, 91%
9. Carson-Mitchell Inc., $22 million, 91%
10. OMG Commerce, $7.4 million, 144%
11. Little Sunshine's Enterprises Inc., $48 million, 33%
12. Anderson Engineering Inc., $19.5 million, 48%

The Dynamic Dozen companies combined represent $2.1 billion in 2020 revenue and over 6,000 employees.

Burrell Behavioral Health additionally was named Tenacious Company of the Year, a new award at Dynamic Dozen that recognizes the behavioral health provider's expansion of mental health care amid the pandemic.

Individual awards went to:
• C.J. Davis of Burrell, top CEO/managing partner;
• Carter Peters of Guaranty Bank, top chief financial officer;
• Adam Andreassen of Burrell, top chief operations officer;
• Tara Bielinski of Phoenix Home Care & Hospice, top sales/marketing professional;
• Celeste Cramer of CoxHealth, top human resources professional; and
• Jason Steingraber of Springfield Public Schools, employee of the year.
