Project description: Work at the Nixa Junior High includes the renovation of an existing auditorium, the interior infill of existing classroom shell spaces and the addition of weight and exercise spaces. The renovated theater, originally constructed in 1985, is designed to incorporate new finishes for the lobby, auditorium and stage, as well as a new drop-off and entry canopy. New seating, theatrical rigging and audiovisual systems are also in the works. The project, part of a $47 million bond issue passed by voters in 2023, is now in the design stage and has not yet been let out for bid.
