Hearts of Fire moving to Inspired Boutique space

Hearts of Fire Tattoo LLC is relocating to the space currently being vacated by Inspired Boutique.

Paul Tillman, property manager for landlord Tillman Redevelopment LLC, confirmed Hearts of Fire signed a lease last week to occupy the 2,600-square-foot first floor at 331 S. Campbell Ave. The top floor, available for office use, is still for lease, he said. Tillman declined to disclose Hearts of Fire’s lease terms.

Hearts of Fire on Facebook announced its plans to relocate on June 1. The downtown tattoo shop resides nearby at 212 W. McDaniel St.

Ethen Jackson, the owner of Hearts of Fire, did not return Springfield Business Journal’s recent request for comment on the plans. Jackson’s wife, Kim, operates Coco Noir Salon in an adjacent space at the same Campbell Avenue building.

Inspired Boutique, a clothing, home decor and furniture retailer operated by developmental disabilities nonprofit Abilities First Inc., had its last day at the South Campbell Avenue space on April 27. It began moving to its new location at 2810 E. Battlefield Road in the Half-A-Hill Center the following day, according to a Facebook post. Springfield Business Journal this morning observed movers continuing to relocate items from the shop.

Michele Fields, director of public awareness for Abilities First, said Inspired Boutique is moving because it needed more space. Abilities First’s Art Inspired event center and gallery will remain open in Tillman Redevelopment’s College Station. She said Inspired Boutique plans to reopen on May 7 at its new location.

SBJ archives indicate building owner Scott Tillman was shot in January 2005 at the Campbell Avenue and Walnut Street property that Inspired Boutique is vacating. The developer recovered from the gunshot wound to his left leg.
