HBA names Ruth CEO

Posted online
Charlyce Ruth has shed her temporary status as leader of the Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield.

The organization's board of directors formally named the 14-year HBA veteran CEO of the organization effective March 19, according to a news release.

Ruth becomes the third CEO for the organization since its 11-year leader Matt Morrow left for another job in November 2012. Gloria Roling was hired after Morrow and exited the position three months later, followed by Ken Thrasher, who served four months before his resignation in November. After Thrasher's exit, Ruth was named interim executive officer, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

While serving as a member of the HBA staff, Ruth rose from administrative assistant to officer manager and, most recently, operations manager.

"Charlyce has a tremendous amount of knowledge of the construction industry and a great relationship with our members," said HBA board President Matt Bailey, owner of The Bailey Co., in the release. "She is a good fit for the CEO position and has already proven herself as an HBA leader."

A Springfield resident for 23 years, Ruth got her start in the construction industry in 1990 working for a commercial construction company in Seattle, Wash.

"We are fortunate to have an active membership here in the Springfield area. I want to make sure current and new members get all the benefits they can out of their HBA memberships," Ruth said in the release.[[In-content Ad]]
