An annual fundraiser held by Harter House raised more than $100,000 for The Kitchen Inc.
The 25th annual Jerry Bettlach/Jim Trimble Memorial event, named in honor of members of the Harter House founding family, included participation from staff and customers at stores in Springfield, Hollister, Nixa, Kimberling City, Strafford and Shell Knob, according to a news release issued yesterday. The fundraiser was held March 2-8.
"Their continued support of The Kitchen through the Jerry Bettlach/Jim Trimble Memorial event is crucial to ending homelessness for families in our community," said Meleah Spencer, the nonprofit's CEO, in the release. "In 2021, The Kitchen housed 816 people, including 205 children. This would not be possible without the generosity of the Harter House family and our community members."
To date, the memorial event has raised more than $1.3 million for The Kitchen.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
