Guardian Pharmacy of Missouri LLC relocated its operations this month to larger digs adjacent to its former Springfield property.
With the move to 2107 E. Rockhurst St. from 2103 E. Rockhurst St., Ste. 108, the company tripled its square footage to 15,000 square feet, said Michael Counts, Guardian Pharmacy of Missouri president.
“Our business is continuing to grow,” he said. “It shows there’s a demand for the services we provide.
Guardian Pharmacy of Missouri, the updated name of Uvanta Pharmacy of Southern Missouri after the firm partnered in 2016 with Guardian, relocated its 50 employees Oct. 15. They plan to hire eight additional employees, including pharmaceutical technicians and pharmacists, with the expansion, Counts said.
Uvanta started in 2009 with two employees before the partnership with Guardian seven years later, he said.
“The growth that they’re experiencing is really tremendous,” said Ben Rickles, account executive with Cookerly Public Relations & Marketing Services, which represents Atlanta-based Guardian Pharmacy.
Guardian Pharmacy of Missouri leased its new operations center on Rockhurst Street and renovated it to the tune of $650,000, Counts said, adding an education and training center. Including new equipment purchases, the investment exceeded $1 million, he said.
“They gutted the entire facility,” Rickles added.
Guardian Pharmacy shares the 30,000-square-foot building with landlord Diversity Commercial Investments LLC and Rhomar Industries Inc., Counts said, declining to disclose terms for its seven-year lease.
Guardian Pharmacy of Missouri supplies medications to skilled nursing and long-term care facilities in the area, as well as assisted living communities and behavioral health centers. Through its partnership with Guardian, the Atlanta company shares profits by handling back-office, finance, administration and human resources services, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.
