Greene County wages rose by 4.1% in the second quarter, according to the latest data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The county's average weekly wage during the quarter was $979, according to a news release.
By percentage increase compared with the same quarter a year earlier, Greene County ranked No. 211 out of the 355 largest U.S. counties measured by the BLS.
Here are Missouri's largest counties, in order of second-quarter percent increase and wage growth rank nationally:
• Clay, $1,128, up 12.2%, No. 3;
• Jackson, $1,252, up 5.7%, No. 110;
• St. Charles, $1,030, up 4.4%, No. 192;
• Greene, $979, up 4.1%, No. 211;
• St. Louis County, $1,314, up 3.8%, No. 235;
• St. Louis City (which operates as its own county): $1,336, up 3.2%, No. 269; and
• Boone, $1,014, up 2%, No. 313.
Of the 355 largest U.S. counties, 340 had year-over-year increases in average weekly wages in the second quarter, according to the release.
